If you find yourself in Balboa Island, first and for-most, a must see and do in Balboa Island is the Balboa Island Ferry, taking you to and from quaint Balboa Island. The ferry can be accessed from either the Newport Peninsula side or Balboa Island. Bridges connected the ‘mainland’ to the island in 1919, and now offer easy access from either route, however, the ferry is a much funner way to cross waters, where you drive onto the ferry boat and cross over as you stay seated in your car. You may also walk on to the ferry to get to the other side. Either way, it is lovely for the adults and super cool for the kids.
